What does promotion look like in 2020?

With these challenging times, our 8th grade graduates this year needed a new, virtual promotion ceremony. It was important to us to provide our students with a promotion, even though an in-person option wasn’t viable.

After brainstorming and speaking as a team, we decided one avenue would be an El Rancho promotion parade in the morning where students and their families could drive through the El Rancho parking lot and see teachers and our mascot wishing them a big congratulations! But we didn’t want that to be the only thing we did.

We created a digital promotion video, which is available to students and their families on YouTube. You can view that video by clicking the video above.

In our digital promotion video, we featured a national anthem performance, student speeches, Coyotes of the Year and all our El Rancho teachers! The video ends with 4.0’s, honors and high honors achieved by the students. With this video, we hoped it was something parents could keep as a special memento of their student transitioning from middle school to high school.

We are so proud of our El Rancho Coyotes for continuing to be motivated and pushing forward during this time of change. We can attest to how hard things have been for us as adults but for middle schoolers we’re sure things have been just as challenging. Our students continued to show up, work hard, turn in assignments get through the end of the year. We would like to take a moment to appreciate our El Rancho students’ families and their commitment to helping their student continue to learn from the comfort of their home (as well as probably having to push them a little harder).

We know our El Rancho Coyotes will continue to shape and change the world as they continue to grow. We are so proud of you, Class of 2020, and we can’t wait to see what your future holds from high school and beyond. El Rancho is Future Ready!

Please come back and visit when it is safe to do so, we’d love to see you! Always remember, YOU, El Rancho Coyotes, have the choice to make it a great day. Or not. The choice is yours.

Congratulations again, Class of 2020!
